Just thought I'd give folks heads up. Evolution Super Shootout is a new format of autocross, it sort of combines national tour and pro solo into one event. Tara and I are planning on attending, we will also have a co-driver Steve Hoelscher (multi time national champion) driving with us, this should be interesting to say the least.
The courses are setup by another multi time national champion and easily top 5 drivers in the nation Mike Jr. Johnson. This is a big event without the pressure of national tour or a pro solo. Anybody interested in coming along? I know we have the talent, let's get some more SWVR folks out on the national scene!

Folks,
Can I get a quick head count as to who plans on traveling up the night before our event at the Paintsville Airport? Chuck and I will be calling around to see if a hotel in the area will give us a group discount.

Also, we need someone to pull the trailer. The board has agreed to pay the "tower" $75 plus free entry into the event since it's such a long way.

Thanks

Hi guys -

I have the new engine that I am putting into my F500. With just a little luck it will be in and secure by next weekend. Then the details begin. New fuel lines/pump, new radiators and plumbing, throttle cable, the 100 little things that accumulate. Much new wiring. But F500's are simple creatures. For example, plumbing the two new radiators in would be seriously complex on most cars. I expect an hour or two determining a plan, parts in a few days, and only a few hours to completion. And have about $40 in extra un-needed parts left over. I may only be a month away from hitting my first autocross.

But I need some machining services. For example, I have a T shaped bushing that has the correct outer diameter, but the ID needs to be drilled out a bit. Two minutes work in a metal lathe. And I have a 1/2" thick aluminum plate that may need to be narrow-ed. Or perhaps have six holes re-drilled and threaded. And when my new custom radiators arrive, I'll need to take the car to someone to weld in a support bracket on both sidepods. So, maybe I'm looking for two different guys.

Back in Atlanta I had two guys: one close, better mechanic but not nearly as good a machinist/welder. One far, professional level of both. And of course both worked cheap. And with Dixie Speedway only 25 minutes away, lots of fall-back options.

Any suggestions? Google searches seem to find only shops that cater to large production manufacturing.
