Thought this might be a good comparison of Robbie's new suspension vs. the old (stock) Some differences are certainly evident (tire size and tire pressure) but still shows quite a bit fo improvement...

Here is a picture of Robbie's Evo in a corner back in June of 2004:

And the exact same adjusted photo which shows the tire working along with camber change:

And even better close-up (again, same exact photo) of the tire where you can clearly see that the tire is making an incomplete contact with the pavement...I'd say only a little over 50% of the contact patch is actually turning the car... Now we know why camber is important....

Here is Robbies new setup from last autocross. Still quite a bit of roll but look at the tires...

Robbie, looks like you are pretty close.(although you can always use a bit more camber if possible) The tire seems to be sitting fairly flat and the pressure seems close...if anything maybe a little underinflated but only a good pyrometer reading will determine that... The car felt really stable and predictable ... Looking forward to see you run at the airport! :f1:

Who's that maniac driving my car?

Thanks for the analysis Martin. However, my camber should be the same that it was back in 2004. Appalachian Tire confirmed that I at least know how to read my alignment in my own garage. My figures matched theirs (sort of... long story). So, I'm going to play around with alignment setting over the next few days. I may have a different setting at the airport.

Oh wow, you are right...it's the maniac in yellow shirt....I really had no idea until you mentioned it... haha
No matter what it looks like the car is making better contact...maybe a little more camber and it should be even better... ;)
(maybe Jason will let you borrow his pyrometer on Sunday so you can get some readings to go by)

I have never really understood the stock camber rules, am I allowed to use any camber bolts for the front, and any rear camber adjuster, or do I just have to deal with how it sits minus the toe, I need tons more camber up front, and I am too lazy to look at the rulebook again

You can only have what the factory shop manual allows you to get.

Actually, I think the EP3 shop manual allows the use of camber bolts, so you should be able to get more than that. Do you have a FSM for your car, Johnny? If not, I'll bring you mine this weekend.

I have a giant pdf file FSM, if you want to bring me your printed one that would be awesome, how much do you want for it?
