I know the rule book states any cat back exhaust, does that mean a flange with a turn down welded onto it count? lol

Yes, just take a piece of steel tubing and create a turn down and you are ok.

Thought you already had a trick exhaust?

yeah, but it scrapes on everything with that stupid extra resonator, i am gonna go back to stock, and then make a nice turn down to throw on for autox, i have a feeling it is going to be loud, are there any sound limits?

95Db I think...I am sure you'll be ok though Johny, you still have the stock cats right?

If a Spec RX7 is under 96 db you'll be too.

95D is way up there. I wonder how this thing is going to sound. If you are WV tagged, you're supposed to have the exhaust exit behind the rear axle. I haven't heard of anyone getting in trouble for this, but you never know. I would like to do the same to save a little weight. My chrome glass pack is coming off as soon as the car is back on the road. Turndowns are the car god's gift to enthusiasts. All hail Pistonimous, the god of cars.

Keep in mind all systems must exit behind the drivers seat.. so no turn downs off the header (unless you are in a mid or rear engine car) or dumps by the front tires ect... FYI I do not think of exhaust as a way to get hp... I think if it as a way to save weight vs a stock system... on my MINI I saved over 30 pounds, still had a muffler and stock exit location.

I think John is trying to go for a turn down exiting close to the rear axle. Sort of like a Comptech turn down.

I'm actually designing something similar for the CRX with an easy attach muffler for travel to and from events. The exhaust on the CRX is very restrictive and weights a ton.

well if i go like a foot off the cat it should be behind the drivers seat, and i know what you mean about hp jason, i probably gained like 3 hp with the hacked up thermal i threw on (maybe a little bit more useable power), but i doubt if i lost weight, it probably added weight, and yeah marteen i should be fine as far as making 95 db, i still have the factory header and cat

i just want to have my stock exhaust for dd, but wanted to find a cheap compromise for autox, that being the reason for the turndown
