I got home from work today to find 4 relatively fresh looking Kumho Ecsta street tires in my driveway in front of my Rx7. They look to be 17inch and are probably 255 and/or 275/40/17. (I didn't venture back outside to look at the sizes until after dark so I don't know for sure).
My Nieces, Sister and her Husband were all here today but nobody remembers seeing anyone deposit these items in my driveway.
Anyone have any idea where these may have come from?

The tire fairy? Did you stick a used tire under your pillow last night?

I just found out from Jim Mason that it apparently was Santa Marcel.
I remember posting in a thread about tires many months ago, but never spoke to him about them.
Now I don't have a "no street tire" excuse anymore.
Marcel, if we had an agreement I don't remember and I owe you money, please let me know.

Did you forget me too, Bill? You owe me (assumes Austin Powers voice)... one MILLION dollars!

Merry xmas Bill. Yeah it was me. And no you dont owe me anything just take and enjoy. I feel you'd do the same and thanks for all the helpful info i've gained over the years.
Plans were to build a 90 coupe but since i've driven a new Shelby there is no turning back to the old foxbodies. I'll be looking for two things either a 2003 cobra convertible or a 2005 and up GT convertible.
Reason i'm going to the convertible is that my daughter competes in pageants and has just added 2007 WV Little Miss Ribfest to her list of accomplishments. Instead of searching for a nice vert everytime for a parade i'll just buy one, lightly mod it, and pass it down to her later.

Marcel, many thanks and I will do my best to get those tires some good use.
I have had the "no street tires"excuse for so many years that I haven't even driven the car on the street for so long I can't remember.
Today, I took the Rx7 to a friend's garage where it will receive a thorough cleaning and some updates and repairs in hopes of making it to VIR at the end of this month. Since I now have some street tires, I may even register it for the street again. (the six foot fireballs out of the exhaust are a problem on the street though.)
Seriously though, the tires were a nice surprise and I will try and make sure they turn many miles under a worthy car.
Take care of the kid, but the region will miss you. Get back out there soon (if you can)
