Just wondering what would be the best way to clean tires from oil... My transmission was leaking a bit from a faulty filler plug last weekend and I got some of the oil on one of my tires... Just looking for some ideas...

A scrub-brush and good 'ol Dawn dishwashing detergent.

Autozone degreaser. That's what I use all over the place. Doesn't hurt hoses or anything. I wouldn't leave it on for a long time, just in case. Good luck.

yup or simple green. it's pretty mild diluted down, but cuts oil well.

Thank you all for your replies! I will maybe try the simple green solution although I am hesitant to put any sort of chemicals on the tires...heh

better yet, just call tirerack and see what they say. i do use 50/50 water/simple green on my skin to degrease all of the time. it's so mild that is doesn't even dry my skin out. but i certainly understand not wanting to put any sort of chemical on those big round expensive meats...
