Speed is reporting (http://www.speedtv.com/articles/auto/formulaone/38951/) that Scott Speed has been dumped from Toro Rosso, effective immediately.
And this came on the heels of the 24-year-old's first public statements about his treatment since becoming a full-time F1 regular in 2006.
“It’s clear that from my bosses, that me and Tonio (Liuzzi) both have very little support," Speed told RACER magazine's Adam Cooper last weekend. "It’s been that way for the last two years, and it’s a lot more now. At some point I said I don’t care, if I’m not in F1 next year, if I’m with a different team, it’s OK for me. It’s actually made me lot more relaxed and a lot more calm, and I think I’m producing better results now actually.
"It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to read the press and know that Franz and Gerhard (Berger) are pushing like hell to get rid of me and Tonio."
Well, that sucks. :frown:

I think I heard someone talking about that the other day while I was watching F1 racing. It really sucks to be in that kind of a possition.

This still hasn't been confirmed as of yet, but it seems like it's bound to happen soon.
In case anyone didn't know it, Speed and his team manager literally got into a physical altercation at the European Grand Prix over the weekend.

Or maybe not (http://www.speedtv.com/articles/auto/formulaone/38951/):
Germany’s Sebastian Vettel showed up for the Scuderia Toro Rosso test Wednesday at Mugello, Italy but embattled American Scott Speed was still in the car.
Following a stormy weekend at the Nurburgring, where Speed and team manager Franz Tost engaged in a screaming, then shoving match, it was reported by SPEEDTV.com the only American in Formula 1 would be replaced immediately by Vettel.
But the 24-year-old Californian remained behind the wheel as the open test began and Tost told Autosport that Speed was going to be in the car for next week’s Hungarian Grand Prix.
As the wheel turns . . .

Yeah, apparently so (http://www.speedtv.com/articles/auto/formulaone/39096/):
BMW Sauber third driver Sebastian Vettel will replace Scott Speed for this weekend’s Hungarian GP, as predicted by SpeedTV.com's Robin Miller last week. Although STR had initially insisted that Speed would continue in the team, the fallout from the Californian's altercation with team principal Franz Tost following the European Grand Prix clearly damaged the relationship beyond repair.
So where does Scott end up? Testing for another F1 team? Back to GP2? Stateside for IRL/ChampCar/ALMS/GrandAm?

I'm hoping Vettel proves that the car sucks. However, I don't think Speed will be getting another shot at F1. I hope he heads for Champ Car. He can battle with Dornbos(sp)(who's kicking butt).
So, is Tonio next to go? Will Toro Roso drop Tonio for Sebastian Bordais and become Team Sea Bass?

there is still a chance Speed will be back next year. Prodrive still hasn't said anything about there drivers next year.
And i don't thing Bordais should go to STR they've provin that they really don't know what there doing.

From F1Live (http://www.f1-live.com/f1/en/headlines/news/detail/070814163710.shtml):
Axed Toro Rosso racer Scott Speed will almost certainly switch to the NASCAR series in 2008, it has emerged.
*sigh*

It's where the money and most of the best American drivers are unfortunately. Can't say I would blame him after how he ran and was treated in F1.

Apparently that's where Red Bull wants him, so that's where he'll go. I know open wheel is a shell of its former self, but a Red Bull infusion in ALMS wouldn't be a bad thing.

Evidently they've got the money so why not?

I've still not seen anyhting about NASCAR anywhere but that link. I'm thinking he'll end up in open-wheel again, but I could be wrong.
