Other than the blistering heat, twas a good event.

Marteen, I want a ride next time. You put your car up before fun runs?! I think you're too far ahead of me to be concerned about giving me pointers. BTW... you need to contact the Toyota F1 team. I hear they could use some help.

Had fun to, it was to interesting to have to run street tires again crappy ones at that! Once again great job Jon!
Sorry grid didn't run as smoothly as it could, to many special cases and issues to work through including mine.
I've have a ideas for next time though.
Liked the coarse Brad, amazingly similar to last Nov.:f1:

The Royale is a sports 2000 class road race car (sports racer) power is 2.0 SOHC ford... the car runs C Modified in autocross.. in CM formula fords and sports 2000 are the only cars legal for the class.. FF are similar in size and weight (a little lighter) but are open wheel vs sports racer.. IMHO CM is one of the best classes out there.. great rules stability and once the car is bought and setup running cost are very low if you only auto-x the car.... CM may be my next venture after F125

BTW thanks everyone for a great event.. the course was good.. the groups went fast enough to not get too hot working... and food/restrooms were on site once the BB folks got started!!

That's funny! But yes, they do need some serious help...haha
Robbie, you're welcome to ride along anytime! Wish you would have told me yesterday...didn't know you wanted to... Yeah I only took 3 runs in the celi yesterday, trying to conserve tires as they need to last the rest of the season... and also wanted to check out Sam's WRX which was a very interesting car to drive to say the least. Definitelly tons of potential with some brake work and better tires... Sam is on 225 wide cup tires...
Also Robbie, I didn't know you wanted pointers, you seem to know your car really well and are a great driver...
The only thing I could think of is maybe using a pyrometer next time to figure out where the optimal tire pressure is since you have quite limited negative camber and the pressure settings are crucial in getting the tire to lay flat in corners without bulging out or rolling over... from what I have seen in the past the 710's like very low pressure and tons of negative camber...

Sam, the car felt really good suspension-wise. Very predictable with good steering response. Can't wait to see you on some decent stickies! As far as stopping, it might just be me but you should have some other folks drive it and give you feedback regarding brakes. It just felt like the ABS was kicking in wayyy too early (might be tire related also so don't go out and spend a lot of money on brake upgrades) ...my celica doesn't have ABS and has overized brakes on it so that might have something to do with it...heh Again, thank you so much for letting me run your suby for the afternoon runs! It's a really fun car to drive!
Hope to see you develop it some more soon.

Davis, I thought Cy's Royale was a new machine and looks like I was very wrong. From what Jason V. said it's the old Royale that was at Riverside last year all redone...(bodywork with some aparently really nice sticky tires) Cy, your last two runs were amazing! That car has turn-in of a go kart...amazing! Just watching him going through the tighter sections was a blast!

i had fun, i never could seem to figure out the section where the spilt was though. probably the hardest set corner's ive seen in along time ( in my short experence) i would either blog like crazy, or push and smack cones lol. marteen the time i rode with you, you seemed to get my car through there pretty good, alot better than i ever did. btw martin you must of misunderstood me on my camber. here is my camber #'s ...LF -2.7 RF -2.8 LR -2.0 RR -2.1
i have camber plates on the front also.

davis the next time you show up i would like a ride and if possible a fun run. i would like for you to take my wrx for a spin or two and get some input from you also. thanks guys for the fun event

Sam, I was referring to Robbie's camber in my post... your camber settings seem good for now, maybe add a bit more negative camber up front when you get stickier tires...

I'll be at the next event.
Sam, sure you can sit shotgun as much as you want on my runs.
Never knew what my car could do in AutoX until Brian Bog. flogged it a few yrs ago.

hey i understand why your username is stupid-loud-subaru after this last event, what kind of exhaust is on there, doesn't sound like you are using any mufflers or resonators

Congrats to everyone. Good to see that Cy finally got the Royale in proper order. The new tires must've really made a difference. It looks much better, too.

Had great fun, despite being horribly slow. My 12 year old co-driver had a blast! My front RA-1s showed up today (instead of Friday). Turned out to be UPS's fault, not Edge Racing. Hopefully the tires will help some. We'll see in September - we will be at the beach during the August event.

SCCA Autocross fee: $20
2.5 gallons of 112 octane leaded gasoline: $17.50
McDonalds lunch: $3.50
Watching Jimmy Mason's face expressions while navigating Sunday's course: PRICELESS!

Seriously, I think that was my highlight of the day....Jimmy's grin while going past us while we worked the course with Jason V was simply priceless! Really wish I had a camera with me at the time. If you're not sure what I am talking about imagine a 5-year old in a really big and really nice candy store....with a really, really happy face... heh

I've heard that the WRX ABS is very temperamental in the earlier WRX years. If you get one tire up, all wheels go into ABS non-lock. That, and the windshields seem to be people’s biggest complaints. I really wanted to get one for a while.

I wish I would have made it to this event, but IHOP wasn't having it. I don't know what it was on my plate, but I'm not really excited about eating there again. It's been way too long since I've been able to get out and do something. I'm feeling the itch.
