why don't you just run a 3 inch downpipe pointing straight down lol, it would be fun riding to events

Wish that was legal in SM....and also wish it was legal sound level-wise....I have a very heavy resonator in the middle of the exhaust and that will probably go by next year...
I used to have the wastegate pipe vented to atmosphere...that was fun...heh

How much more weight can you lose in the All trac and still be SM legal

I am still working on the exhaust and fuel tank...plus I am removing the rear swaybar completelly... So a lot of the weight will come off the rear of the car.... Also going with a lighter intercooler radiator...I think I can find a few more places but it's getting tougher and tougher as you can imagine. I think another 80 to 100 lbs should be possible. Would like to have the car in the 2800 lb range next year...

i have seen people cut holes in their fenders to run the waste gate pipe out of, there was an integra in one of scc ultimate street car challenge with a setup like that, i thought it looked really dumb on an integra

do you just have your waste gate pipe running back into your down pipe?

Do what I did and polish every part of your motor. The junk on it is about 5-10lbs I bet. I know my manifold feels lighter now. Also, rounding out ruff casting marks on the head and block will shave a little wieght. Just something to consider next time you need to pull the motor.

Johny,
Yes, I have the wastegate pipe running back to the main exhaust....it's much quieter and I think it doesn't confuse my knock sensor as much when I tune....
It's really "cool" to have the w-pipe running separate but in all reality it does not really provide for any advantages...or very, very minimal. Maybe with some larger turbos so when the wastegate opens it does not interfere with the exhaust flow coming from the turbine...

yeah i never really understood why civics making 300 hp had to make such a big deal of keeping their waste gate pipe seperate, doesn't an internal just keep it in the exhaust, or has my turbo knowledge reached its peek lol

Well, a lot of the "big shots" want to squeeze every single HP out of their cars and that's why they do it.....From what I understand, they want to keep the WG pipe separate so they don't interrupt the tubine flow... When you reroute the WG back to exhaust too soon it actually clashes with the regular exhaust creating unwanted pressure waves and turbulences.... I am sure there are plenty of write-ups on this but this is what I remember ina nutshell...
