WDCR SCCA June 17th at fedex field

I'm going to this one because fed ex field parking lot is closer to annapolis than riverside will be. I remember talking to someone in sts who said they came all the way from MD to get to the parkersburg event... that's a long haul... But this one shouldn't be nearly as long of a trip...

There are a lot of events at Ripken Stadium if you're up in the MD area. Ripken is in Aberdeen and I've run with autocrossers inc. up there a few times. PCA has events there as well as one of the SCCA regions - I think steel cities. I'm sure the BMW club up there has events as well. I know the WDCR events can be difficult to get into sometimes so I was just offering other options. BTW, this doesn't mean I don't like WDCR. They push a lot of cars through and have a lot of talent. You need to preregister too I believe because there is a lot of autox interest.

I absolutely had a blast out here, the course was huge! Very technical as well. I saw a lot of Mini's.... just about every class from stock, sp, st, and sm had at least a few Mini's in it. Lots of subaru's too. I was impressed by the efficiency of the event. At any rate, well worth the 40 bucks. I would even say that if I were in Morgantown, coming to a WDCR event would be worth the drive.... anyhow, I am getting better I think, although I messed up a little something on every run. With the course so long, every thing you did set you up for the next turn, so if you messed up, you had to really work hard to get back on the right path for later in the course. I improved my time by about a second every run except my last. I think my tires over heated, and I didnt get them cooled down enough for the last run--It was hot out there too!--. I placed 12th out of 13 in sts. The fastest driver in sts I believe I heard someone say is a national level driver/champion. Hopefully when I return to run SWVR in the fall, I will have learned some more driving skills ;)

Well anyways thought I'd share the results and a few pictures I took:

Morning course walk... this lot was just HUGE!!! And there is a larger lot on the other side of the stadium they use for the Pro-Solo. Wish there was something like that in WV!

Running in bigger regions is a humbling experience. WDCR has plenty of talented national level drivers.

Another thing to note which we should do... disqualify people who don't work.
