What would be the smallest vehicle that would tow my 3000 lb. celica on a two-axle trailer? Maybe next year it would be better if I just towed the car to events...

Given the weight of your car + weight of the trailer + the up and down hills we have I would say you'd be better with an older V8 Silverado 1500. You can get one of those for $5k easily. V6 would work, like a 4 Runner or something but you'd have a hard time climbing some of the hills.

Might have to go with something like this for now, maybe next year will be the time for a a truck and a big trailer...
This is a neat design, was thinking of something like this before that would be removable....

I've always just gone by the rule of dont tow more than the car weighs unless it was something built to do real work (dually, integrated fifth wheel, brake controller... etc).
