Another map?

Ok, I promise this is the last map.

There will be a large copy of this on the Admin and Timing trailer (Thanks again Jamie Wolfe). But here is a handout too for those that want to know.

Jason V. has volunteered to direct the course workers (thanks!)

Here is the PDF to the "Course Worker Station Map" (500kb)
The stations represent the general area of where a station may be. Safety is prime consideration and workers need to be in an area that is not in a direct "hot" area.

If possible, let's number these areas and get some sort of marker for them. That way, when it's time to rotate corner workers whoever is doing the wrangling can say "you go to station 5" or whatever.

'course, you may already have that taken care of Davis, but in case not.

Thanks Jon for the idea on numbering worker stations. (ninja edit)

The link above has the revised map. Stations are numbered according to flow of course.

Davis,
There was some talk about giving a post-it note to the drivers with their time at the finish line. It is handy to have and requires everyone to come to a complete stop at the finish. (a good safety practice) I can bring a pile of post-it notes if you would like.

Congratulations on 100 entries! I am excited!

I will be making a worker sign up sheet for Miro the worker cheif to use.. Also I assume station one on the map is for our starter/grid workers/trailer workers... stations 2 - 6 are the actuall corner worker positions right??

100 cars at 6 runs a piece is 600 post-it notes. That's quite a chunk. If you bring them, I'll pitch in on paying for them. I'll also be the "post-it" for the STS workers if no one wants it. Otherwise, I'm calling starter. I like the responsibility of making sure the track is clear and the driver is wearing his or her belt and have their helmit strapped on.

JD, as you seperate the field into run groups, be sure to not have all of the Safety Stewards in the same group (that would be me, Nate, Robert, and Alicia).

Heh, that's not me department. :D Good point, tho'. Same for computer operators (me, Sean, Marteen). Is Robert running? He's not on the entry list, IIRC.

Nathan - I wouldn't count on 6 runs on Saturday. 4 is probably a more doable target, given the size of the field. But if I'm wrong, I'll happily admit it!

Yes you are correct. I put a small "bullseye" (station) at the timing trailer to represent the grid worker, flagger, computer and assistant/s.

2-6 are worker stations that are in the main hot zone.

I already have plenty. They come 1200 to a package.

We should be able to do 6 runs without any problems, with two cars on track.
Fun runs possible.... 3 groups with 35 car each. I don't see any problems.
If we are going to start on time ...
I'll take care of workers with some help from Jason V.
See you tomorrow ...
