Now that Renault is no longer up front every race, it looks like Flavio Biratore has some ideas to "improve" the F1 show (http://www.speedtv.com/articles/auto/formulaone/36975/). The big one is to have more races and split the race weekend up into shorter sprint races ala GP2. That would allow drivers that screw up early in race one to come back in race two.

Thoughts?

I deifnitely wouldn't argue that I'd like to see more races on the calendar, but I don't think I like the idea of the sprint races. I think Formula One races are supposed to be epic. When I watch A1GP, I always feel like the excitement becomes diluted because of the Sprint races. They usually end when things are still competitive, leaving me wondering what would've happened if they had completed only one full race. It seems like the only time I ever catch GP2 is right when the drivers get to the podium, aka 5 minutes before the F1 race. I always want to watch, but you can only subject your wife to a certain amount of racing in a weekend before she pretends to fall asleep lol.

I just read up on Wikipedia about A1GP. They run a sprint race, then a full race on Sundays of race weekends. I had never totally understood that, so maybe witht hat in mind, it'dmake more sense. I'd have to watch both races with that in mind in order to really say.

April is probably a LOT more receptive to F1 racing than my wife(Stephanie). So, don't complain too much.

....Spyker and Heineken have just signed an agreement to make Heineken their official beer. It will also include opening a Formula 1 themed sports bar in the Netherlands.
