Has anyone heard from Tara and the gang at VT? I hope they are OK!

Tara posted in the "Pits" section below in someone else's thread. Hopefully the rest are OK too.

I am ok. Most of my friends ok as well as autocrossers. I have a friend in the hospital but he's listed as stable. His name is Kevin Stern and you might have seen him on TV. Suppose to see him tomorrow, today was too crazy.

Sunday's autocross we're donating profits to those affected by Monday's Tragedy. Orange and Maroon are encouraged to be warn by participants/spectators.

Thanks for the concern guys. Let me know if you need some VT apparel or something and I'm sure I can grab/mail something. I will be going home hopefully for a few days but I'll get to it at some point.

Since Monday I've been wearing VT apparel on campus here at WVU. I am glad to hear that your friend is in stable condition. This event surely affected ALL of us here at SWVR in some way or another.

I personally feel very upset over these events. I have always loved VT, and to have an event like this happen on the campus that I have loved so much just really unsettles me. This weekend I am going down to visit my sister down there, might stop by Salem while I'm at it to watch. Any other SWVR people going to the event in Salem?

Tara, good to hear at least the autocross folks are ok, and glad to hear your friend is in stable condition!
Miro and I (possibly Jason V.) are coming down Sunday. This should be the first nice autocross of the year and wouldn't want to miss it. Hope more people make it down from our region, this is a very, very nice lot.

Fwiw The Salem event has turned into more of a memorial/rememberance. We are encouraging participants/spectators to wear orange and maroon. We are also donating the profits to one of the funds that benefits the families affected. Probably the one on the VT.edu webpage as we know it's legit and it helps everyone. There will also be some neat dash plaques handed out which were donated by the company we work with who makes them for every event we hold. And we will accept extra donations if that is your style.

Oh yeah, and Jon Felton who organizes the NASA mid-atlantic autox stuff sent me a message the other day and they're donating all the money from their event in Norfolk too! The support has been awesome all around. Thanks guys.
