Since nobody wants my Hoosiers, I was thinking of getting some 17" wheels to put them on. Problem is, all of the legacy wheels are 7" wide. I found a good price on some used ones, but wasnt sure if I could safely and effectively put the Hoosiers on them.

Any ideas?

Check the specs for that tire on the Tire Rack site - that will tell you what rim widths will work.

Caleb, that's exactly the setup I ran my first year autocrossing...it worked well enough to justify doing it... They'll be a bit "balloned" out but nothing major...I have heard of 275 width tire on a 7.5" rim before so this is no problem.

I think chris is running 225s on his 5.5 or 6 inch width wheels, and i will have 225s on my 6 inch width wheels, of course it isn't recommended by the tire manufacturer but 245s should work on the 7 inch wheels
