First Smart sighting

Saw my first Smart ForTwo yesterday - in Weston of all places. (Weston has some strange car mojo. Watch for an article in RM soon) Had WV plates, and according to some folks I talked to, it's a Weston car. Didn't get to see it up close, just passing the other way on Rt 33, but it's SMALL! On that same trip I saw a transporter full of brand new Porsches followed (natch!) by a load of Corvettes about a mile later, northbound on I-79. Love that road trippin'.

So I'm not the only one that gets excited about things like that. Di they have the Porsches on an open trailer?

I saw that Smart on I-79 a couple weeks ago coming back from Clarksburg. It's small and slow, but for some reason I still want one....

I just talked to my sister who lives in Buckhannon and it is a Weston car, she's seen it running around Buckhannon as well.. those things are definately strange...

Yes, the Porsches were on an open hauler, which I thought was odd. 911s, Boxters, and Caymans. Yummy. Those of you who have a Weston connection might already know about Jim Bandy. He's agreed to an interview of his collection for RM. Should be ready in the next couple of months.

Smart is "comming" in 08. (First Q I think)

Base smart for2 starting at $12K, Passion (more standard options)14K and a cabby for 17.


This could make for a interesting sub-compact war if the dealers dont put 3-4K+ of dealer markup when they come out.



Should make for some fun new car shopping later this year.

I'm in Weston and know what you mean. I know Jim Bandy well and stop by fairly often to see whats new. I'm in a white '92 VR-4 if you see me out just gimme a yell.
