Right before the forums were updated, there was a post in the members only section discussing a SSS and whether there would be one coming up anytime soon...

I never found out if there was a response on that or not...

Anyone know? I'd like to attend if there is one coming up!

THANKS!!

It is my intention to do one as soon as my youngest's basketball season is over (so I'll have a free Saturday). Robert Godbey has graciously offered to let us use his conference room. All we need is a date. I'm thinking March 3 or 10. Who's in?

Erm this is for the Solo Safety Steward course, the dates are either March 3 or 10th. I haven't seen anyone this excited about getting SSS certified. ;)

What exactly do you do? Is it a driving safety thing to make sure your okay for Solo runs? Wouldn't be a bad thing to be certified in anything. It would look nice next to my CDL in my wallet. I'll try to make it if at all possible.

SSS = Solo Safety Stewards. They are the folks who ensure that we comply with the safety regs in the SCCA Solo rules. We have to have one SSS on duty at all times, which means it's helpful to have several at an event so they can rotate (just like other workers).

March 10 is the tentative date, pending an "OK" from Robert. 10am starting time. Remember, you must be an SCCA member. To prepare, download (or purchase) the '07 rulebook and read the appropriate sections. RSVP here. (Luke, and others who can't make this date, their will be another school later on) The more, the merrier!

Is the SSS still on for this Saturday? 10am? Directions?

Also, I was going to print off the appendix from the back of the rulebook related to this...any other sections I should print?

Solo Safety Steward training is on for this Saturday, March 10th, at 10am, at Robert Godbey's office at 1339 Smith St in Charleston. More or less across the street from Nature's Furniture, down the street from the outfield of the new ballpark. Try to read the Solo Safety Steward Guidebook, which is Appendix E in the rulebook (or was in the '06 rulebook, anyway), although we will cover everything you'll need in detail. Hope to see lots of smiling faces!
