Those cop cars can really hand their tail out if hit the go pedal hard.

In my past life in KY, one of the local sheriff's departments had a supercharged Mustang complete with lights, badges, the works. It was a red '99 GT; think Norton's car with a light bar.

The deputy who was assigned the car was allowed to modify it all he wanted. In addition to the supercharger, he did the full suspension and Cobra brakes. The caveat was that said parts either went with the car or he had to put the stock parts back on before turning it in. He even ponied up for extra wheels and stickies!

Unfortunately, the poor guy couldn't drive a lick. This was back in the days when my Cobra was stock and I was running on street tires. He never got within two seconds of me and typically finished last or second to last in C/P.

Sure was fun for me (and about 75% of the other entrants) to show our friend in blue how to drive! :lol: He was a really cool guy though and we had a good time talking with him. Unfortunately he gave up autocrossing after that one season.
