I'm sure some of you guys have seen this already, pretty interesting:

For the lazy, Top Gear (not the new US crap) took the top iRacing racer and put him in a Star Mazda on Road Atlanta. He did really well for having no real life experience, even getting to throw up inside his helmet lol.

Seriously? Some of the UK stuff I've seen is utter crap. There have only been two US episodes. Give it a chance. I'll buy a drink for someone if they can post a link to the first two episodes of the UK version.

Oh I'm not saying all the UK series/episodes are awesome, and it's obviously had years to get where it is. I just think with the current cast our version isn't going to get much better. Tanner is alright, but the other two just kill it. I like what they've been doing, the star in a small car needs some work, but when either Rutledge or Adam start talking it just goes down hill for me.

I don't mind Rutledge. Even though Tanner has a good resume he's got a cocky attitude and it's a little annoying. No one likes Adam. Actually, they're all cocky, and I think that's less them and more the producers trying to match the witty style of the brit version. The older format of the show was better, when they talked matter of factly about things and way more in depth with the humor and cockiness on the side. Now they just mention a few numbers and outrun helicopters (boring, fake, etc). Anyway, to make a statement on topic, I'd throw up in 10 helmets if I got to do that.

From what I understand, none of the TopGear spinoffs in other countries have been particularly successful. Let's face it, what makes the UK version so entertaining is the interaction among Clarkson, Hammond, and Captain Slow. That's hard to recreate with another cast. It probably also benefits US viewers that a good chunk of the actual car reviews on the UK show deal with cars that aren't on sale here, so we just sit back and revel in the entertainment.

I found this most recent episode (#3) pretty entertaining (not so much the first two). The bit with the 3 $1000 sh*t boxes running loose down South was very funny.

Last weekends episode was great. 110% better than the first two episodes. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time as I did when the Caddy was on the dirt course, especially after the big jump.
