YUP... I think I have settled on running VP MS 98 fuel next year... the high octane of the c12 is overkill for my low compression ICC... and I should see a very small power gain from going down to 98 octane fuel... not sure if I want to risk using 93 though that should make a little more power than 98..
Speaking of... anyone have any unmixed c12... I am going to be a little short and hate to buy a full 5 gallons right before the winter....

I have thought the same thing about my "close to stock" moto engine. I was told by the previous owner "don't run pump gas!" My current opinion is that the extra knock protection of the high octane stuff is worth the small amount of HP you may gain by running lower octane. Just my opinion.
I went back to my original engine, BTW. Jon Ratcliff now owns the one with the domed pistion and programmable ignition.

I have about 2 gallons, but I'll likely be needing it. I'll likely split the rest between myself and Jon Ratcliff. Did I mention that we're putting a kart together for him? I'll double check the quantity when I get home. I may be able to spare enough for you. I'll let you know.

Yeah thats why I settled on 98 for next year, when 93 should be ok (still don't want to use pump gas b/c of the ethanol content) the extra bit of protection in the 98 is worth the very small possible power hit.

Hopefully I have enough to make it through this next event.. need to check this evening. I may have to buy a drum myself. I'll let you know if I have any spare. Went through more than I expected at the last event with that fuel pump issue.

What bothers me most is this: "May contain up to 10% ethanol"
That sucks to a car guy who's aware of the different stoichiometric air/fuel ratios of gasoline vs ethanol. Don't screw with my mixture!!!
On a slightly different topic... When is the greater Charleston area gonna get some E85 stations?

The gauley bridge sunoco "should" have ethanol free 100 octane.
Olivers has ethanol free gasoline.
