Broken out of fs/wtb:

I'm not a fan of the yellow/black paint scheme but if you are this is a lot car for the money. It's probably a mid to high 11 second car yet the mods aren't over the top and shouldn't impact reliability or longevity.

That one is just the first interesting example I came to. There are lots of others available on the corvetteforum. On a performance per dollar basis, I don't know of anything else out there that can touch the 01-04 Z06s. Good luck!

BUMBLZEE!, not sure I could let that grow on me! Millennium Yellow is probably my #2 color though. I have been watching the corvetteforum religiously for a month or so now. Seems nothing is moving too fast at the moment, buyers market?... I hope.

I think you said Silver was your #1 in the other thread. Comes with an extra set of factory rims for your stickies to. One way ticket to Memphis and drive it home...

My Z06 quest took a detour for this:

2007 Solstice GXP

While out looking at more Vettes we took one these out in fell in love at first drive, then was on to finding the best deal. It's surprisingly quick and nible as a mouse on a hot tin roof. Priced quite well to boot, got it for $17k with 14,500 miles on the clock.

I started turning my sights to a C6 z51 as my wife was pushing hard for a targa top or convertible, hard to argue against that! My thinking was this would span the gap while I wait on those prices to come down a bit over the next year or so, but a deep bond is alrealy forming with 10 hrs in the seat of this little pocket rocket over the weekend.

Neat car. The only bad thing I have heard about them is that the top is a pain in the posterior (compared to a Honda S2000). Apparently they have to be stowed just so. You may be interested to know that there is a garage in Clarksburg (?) that will install an LS-7 in your Solstice, along with a new, beefier rear end (CTS-V). The downside is the cost and lack of brake and tire upgrades.

Thanks for the compliments! The top is a bit pain with the in, out, in operation but it's just another chance to hope out and admire the stylish good looks! But when stowed, it leaves just enough room take along a sandwich, tire pressure gauge, an extra pair of underwear and that's about it. But what more do you need anyway?

The LS-7 swap is an intresting idea. At 260 hp as is, it has double the power than what I was used to in the Miata. I am not so sure I could hold it in the road with 505 hp! Who knows, would be fun project in a couple of years. True about the breaks, could almost use more with the four banger.

I do plan on getting back out to some autocrosses with it, August is looking like a bust but hopefully in September.

There is a guy in Fairmont WV that builds them with LS7(Z06) motors.

He calls them "SolBra"

He is a really nice guy, Cathy and I toured his shop one day on our way to a football game.
