I am currently looking into doing some very large changes to my little legacy, and i wasn't able to find a really clear answer in the rule book.

From my quick and dirty classing at the first event i went to i am in FSP, Just to double check if that is right I have the following mods:

Engine/Performance:
Intake: Resonator Mod/fender plug/Hybrid Intake
NGK Plugs
Big 3/Grounding Kit
Short throw shifter
Vibrant Preformance Streetpower Muffler #1034
Magnaflow High Flow Cat
Group A Lightweight Crank Pulley
Custom Built 2" Headers
Oil Catch Can

Suspension/Handling:
Outback Rear sway bar + bushings

Brakes:
Front GT Rotors + 2 pot

Exterior:
GT hood with JDM splitter
JDM Front Bumper - has the lightweight beam
JDM Fog lights
JDM Headlights
JDM Tail lights

Wheels
16" snowflake alloy wheels (from GT model)

from what i have read i believe that i will stay in FSP if i do the following:
Stiffer motor/tranny mounts (Group N)
steering rack bushings
new struts/lowering springs
port and polish the heads (minor DIY on extra set of heads)

things that will get me into SM
Cam shaft regrinds
addition of a LSD
lightweight flywheel

am I correct so far, I don't really know about the cams because they are the OE cams just reground

Lastly as a fun project i have been looking at supercharging my little ej22 with an eaton m62 from a Mercedes-benz c230, just to be one of the rare supercharged subies i couldn't figure out where this would throw me class wise.

I already have the ball rolling on the head work and the cams we'll see where all this gets me

You are very close but not quite 100% correct. You Can add LSD and stay in FSP, however you cannot port or polish the head, OR regrind the cams. Either of these will move you to SM. Remember, the most important words in SCCA SOLO rules interpatation are, "If it dosn't say you can, you can't." The supercharger would still land you in SM, and man would that be sweet! The new rules for 2010 should be out fairly soon, not many major changes expected but you never know. Hope this helps.

Sounds like a nice build! The hood and brake mod would put you in SM automatically. Hope all works out and you'll be able to play with us soon! :partay:

PS: You cannot change the front bumper support under SM rules, if you do it'll put you to X-Prepared. I'd stick with SM if I were you, XP is too crazy IMHO...

on the hood/brakes, the way i understood it because the gt and the L are considered the same car the parts are interchangeable

the biggest problem with the bumper beam is not that my JDM fog lights wont mount to the stock USDM but, it was stole from my brother in laws pick-up while he was @ work, seriously who steals a plain jane bumper + beam...

as for the head work it's being done on an extra set of heads so i can just wait till i get closer to the supercharger to put them on
