instead of a Camaro up on blocks in the front yard you have an Audi up on jackstands next to the garage.

I've got a suspension rebuild in progress. New struts, shocks, strut bearings, bushings, tie rods and steering rack. Everything sandblasted and powder coated.

Yes, I have a car habit that just won't quit.

My target is to give the battle wagon a run for its money.

I know what a RallyX is.

I just didn't know that one was happening around here just in time to temp me to undo all the time and money I've spent making the underside of my car all pretty.

Classic quattros (read 5 cylinder) have long noses that like to dig in the dirt. I've already had to replace my alternator and mount due to an incident earlier this year where I was playing rally driver. Subarus, which have an identical drivetrain configuration, get around the long front overhang by way of the inherent shortness of the horizontally opposed motor. I think this has something to do with Audi's current use of V motors along with tricks like mounting the cam drive on the back of the motor in order to reduce their front overhang.
