remove pipe, top head bolts and coolant hose, voila

remove 4 main head bolts, gently rock cylinder off. fine engines and fine women like gentle... sometimes

remove, C clips, slide out wrist pin, take lots of random pics
monitoring the scoring issue on the skirt, i think its either from not enough warm up or something being injested... we'll see.

exhaust bridge looks pretty good. the streak is adjacent to the scoring. no damage to the nikasil.

trying an aftermarket forged wiseco piston this time. lighter, cheaper and stronger than aftermarket but more prone to stick b/c it's forged and expands more. i had plenty of clearance though in my old cylinder. it's a clone of the RS piston that's $200 vs $130. should also afford some more run time: 3-4 hrs on a ring and 3-4 hrs on a piston. we'll see when power starts falling off.

that's about it. i don't forsee this job taking longer than 30-45 minutes from here on out. it's a crude little machine but it does what it's designed to do...
