This is what I got for my car and it is direct OE fit. Somobody was "protesting" so here it is and I don't know I may be wrong..

If that's the case, why do you care what class you are in? I'm just sayin'.....

That is not the fuel pump in your car, you have this one which is part number GSS 342 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220378655734)
Walbro makes three different fuel pumps. A stock 190 lph replacement, and two 255 lph high performance ones with higher pressure and flow. The pump that you have in the car is the 255 lph high pressure/flow pump which is not legal.
Don't put words in my mouth, no one said it gave you 20 hp. I asked you what pump you had, your response was a Walbro "OE replacement". There is a distinct difference between OE fit and OE replacement. My engine is an OE fit, does that mean I can run HS?
You are a great driver, but your cars tend to be illegal. Your old Celica was illegal every year that you ran it. Do you think that makes it fun for your competitors? Yes this is local stuff, but I'd hate to see you get paper thrown at you at a larger event.

Looks like we did get the wrong pump for his car... so I am going to blame this one on me... we needed a pump for him quick since his old one went bad and he was stuck in morgantown. I'll be getting the correct one for him asap.
Sean, stop stalking me on the ineternet!!! And thanks for pointing that out, I had no idea...
Edit: I bought the pump for him and I bought the first and cheapest one... I think Miro thought I bought the one he has in his link in the first post... excuses excuses...I know.

Well, once you start going to the bigger events money is definitely there...don't know about fame though...heh

P.S. In the grand scheme of things as long as Miro plays local no one cares. But, if he ventures into tours, pros he should know what is on his car and be able to prove it.

P.P.S
Honda OEM pumps are built better, but yes they cost more. Also, I've never had a fuel pump fail on any of my Hondas. Did you find out what failed?

I wasn't there when it failed but Miro said his car died while idling and the pump never came on after that... I bought him the pump and he put it on in Morgantown... I was never even thinking about the lagality of things at that point. SM is sooo much easier....heh

As I have brought up before, message boards are great for messages. Absolutely horrible for debating an issue. It heats up emotions and the keyboard, but doesn’t accomplish anything. If there is a real issue, then let’s handle it properly and objectively based solely on the facts.
I hate to stick my nose in this, but as Activities Director I think I am obligated to do so. According to the bylaws,
“The Activities Director shall be responsible for…competitive events and to see that they are conducted…according to prevailing SCCA and local regional regulations.”
“The Activities Director shall appoint an autocross committee…The duties of the committee shall be… to handle any protests of cars, classifications, and events.”
Therefore, if there is a real issue here, then I would like a protest filed with myself* or the autocross committee**. If the issue can’t be easily decided due to ambiguity in the National SCCA rules, then I will recommend the RE hold a meeting to determine whether a more definitive local rule should be established for this specific type of issue.

** The autocross committee for 2009 was established earlier this year. The members are: Jack Sampson (chairman), 5225 Alpine Dr #C Charleston WV 25313-1638 email: BlueACR44@suddenlink.net phone 304-776-6969, also
Dan Combs, Sean Halloran, Brad Spurlock, Chuck Clark, and Jim Pyrce.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves...
I told Miro he had a questionable fuel pump
He said he didn't, I said check it and report back
He did, but didn't have the correct info
Marteen acknowledged that it was infact the wrong pump
End of story, everyone lives happily ever after
Seriously, this is local autocross so lets not throw paperwork around.
Miro may be running DC Pro, my motive is to ensure his first big event doesn't turn into a teardown.

P.S: hypothetical situation
Miro runs DC Pro
He finished well, say top 5
Beats a bunch of Spec Civics
What do you think will happen? I bet you it won't be high fives, good job, damn that car is fast. It'll be hmm why the hell is a 94 GSR doing that well, phone calls will be made to experts on the car. Someone will start poking around and finding things to protest. It could be anything, from a missing grommet to an incorrectly aligned emblem.
Marteen can tell you exactly how many people were poking around his car last year at DC. If I remember right Chris Travis said "Martin I can protest you for this missing part but I won't." When you are slow like me no one gives a shit, but when you are fast people do give a shit.

That's great. If everyone is happy, or just wants to debate that's certainly okay. If it gets resolved on its own, that's always preferable. I was just saying from an official point of view that IF there is a real issue, everyone here is wasting their time and resolving nothing until a protest is filed. But if a protest isn't needed, then I can go back to sleep and you kids can "wrassle" around all you want. Just don't break the furniture.

I think the issue is resolved.
A few of us Jason, Marteen, Phil, Johnny, Jon, yours truly have ventured into the world of national autocrosses. Miro is signed up for his first one, my goal is to ensure he doesn't get his first taste of life outside the local world tainted by a protest. Every big event has atleast 2-3 protests, and the paperwork sucks.

People definitely poke around... I painted my car just before DC last year and in fact was missing a few very minor plastic pieces... sure enough, it's illegal but did it make me faster? no... that's why Chris just gave me a friendly gesture to correct the issues and the show went on... Now if it were something more substantial I am sure a protest would be filed in a second.

Chris just gave me a friendly gesture
Technically, it's only friendly if they use more than one finger, two if they're English.
My preferred tactic is to drive just slow enough to avoid any kind of gesture.

So I didn't see Daniel hitchhiking, which back woods of WV did you leave him at? :hammer:

Local vs nationals is a big differance. Older Club members will remember in the late 70's when one of our own was fast time in class at the national Champs and lost in protest of carb jet size.

anyway...
I'm pretty sure I got a right pump, but i'll check tonight and let you know.
No hard feelings Shean....

I've been dicking around with Hondas for the last 15 years so I know a thing or two about them. I also crewed for a ITA, ITS and ITR Integra and know exactly how they are built.
There is no hard feeling, I just don't want you to get screwed at DC or any other big event. Ask Marteen what happened to the SCR guy Travis with the BS 968. I kid you not, the moment the last run was done and he was on top paperwork was filed and they were getting Porsche experts on the phone.

Miro:
I wouldn't give 2 shits if you weren't a good driver who I hope decides to go to bigger events. Talk to Marteen about the crap we saw at Nats, Peru, DC, etc with protests for even smaller infractions.
I'll have to research the Walbro pump, I believe that might be the correct flow rate. I'll get back to you tomorrow.

I ll see you all at Parkersburg.
