Unfortunately that is the case, same as parking tickets and increased fees for other state services... Even legislature is cutting back on different things, it's very transparent which is good IMHO. (even though some of us lost a few days of annual leave)

Maybe that explains why the South Charleston coppers have been more visible on my way to work this week.

Ironically enough, there was a story the other day about some local governments being so strapped that they're going to stop prosecuting misdemeanors. Costs too much to lock people up for petty stuff. And it doesn't bring in the bucks quite as well, apparently.

Whatever you do don't get pulled over in SC, no matter what it will be extremely unpleasant.

The part that bothers me is as the money gets lower all of a sudden the law is more important to enforce. I hate the inconsistency. I'd rather have a speeding tax that I could pay each year that allowed me 15 over the limit on the interstate. Same end result the state gets money. Just thinking.
