They've not gone with medals, but otherwise Bernie's idea of determining the F1 champ based on number of wins is a go (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/motorsport/formula_one/7948455.stm). Point will still be used for a tie breaker, for championship positions below 1st, and the constructor's title. Seems colossally dumb to me.
