I am thinking there was still water in the oil and it caused the bearing failure.

I'm so confused. Did you blow another engine, or is this still the same one? Something tells me that 6,000 RPM's had more to do with it than did 88mph. I travel at a steady 88mph on the way to work every day, so that didn't blow it up.

Same motor...
Something about Deloreans... 88... back to the future... twas lost in translation.

Same engine, once i removed the intake manifold I saw the REAL damage.
Apparently, I was running around with roughly a gallon of water in the engine oil. Even though I changed the oil 4 times, and cranked the engine with the spark plugs out, after it exploded I drained the oil and out came another gallon of water (this is after I changed it 3 times and the last two not a drop of water came out)
So yeah, my car ran for 5000 miles with a gallon of water in the engine. I'm sticking with Lesbaru.
