I just purchased a 2002 Jetta 1.8T for my son. This thing is going to make a great autox car. It goes like a rocket. Does anyone know of a user group or website that caters to Jetta owners? We Miata guys have Miata.net.

Hey now Luke, horsepower isn't everything! The only VW thread I know of is vwvortex.com which makes me want to kill myself but so does the average VW owner.

cool!
vortex is probably it like johnny said. if the timing belt/tensioner wasn't changed at or before 60k miles do it NOW! bent valves are no fun.
btw, i have vagcom anytime you need it. i always have it in the car at events. speaking of cars, hmmm i really need to get something to tow the kart since the s4 is gone.

Yeah seriously nate! Also, did you sell your car to anyone here at the capitol? I thought I saw a similar car in the gov's parking lot here...

haha.
i should have posted a thread i guess.
i sold it to a good friend from morgantown who always said he wanted it. i became spooked when it was emitting a lot of condensation out of the exhaust on cold days. I was thinking the worst but in reality it was probably just a bad cat (meow!) which was an indication of the sulfur smell it was producing.
the car needed some work to get it to daily driver status again (timing belt, clutch maybe and some coolant hoses to name a few) and even still it was a thirsty sucker at about 16/22 mpg. it seems all of my old friends live 3+ hours away as well as karting being somewhat far away for a track day. so i'm looking for a B7 A4... used of course.
scott, can i assume that you want some alone time with the vagcom
