Hey, it's been awhile. I have a new car. The ole camry broke down, and I'm driving a 2003 3.4 litre monte carlo. I want to eventually make it out to an event this summer. Was wondering which stock class that falls under... I know i could look that up in the rule books. But also, what all can i have on it and still keep it in stock class? I am thinking of installing KYB agx struts (adjustable dampening.) and my HKS muff off the camry. That would still allow me to compete stock as long as its just the muff, yes?
In addition to that, any suggestions on tires? I dont know the stock tire size off the top of my head, but i do know its 16 inch rim and 225 wide. dont know side wall profile. you can still run on slicks for stock, correct?

I can't tell - I don't see a "Monte Carlo" listing in stock. Is the Monte a submodel of something else?
UPDATE: Didn't look hard enough. There's a G/Stock catch all for "General Motors: All FWD models with 6-cyl . . . NOC". So it looks like G/Stock.

Shocks/struts are OK, modified exhaust past the cat is OK; any DOT-approved tire that will fit on the stock size wheels is OK (includes R-comp "stickies," but not all out slicks).

Thanks for the info sentrawv. The Monte Carlo is a sub model for the Impala... what chevy was thinking making a full size coupe is beyond me... I can't park next to anyone a parking lot, for fear of the doors swinging out and hitting other vehicles.
The car being full size, is a very different feel than my camry was. It doesn't feel nearly as nimble as the toyota. I do like the extra HP from the V6. But being a full size, it doesnt make that much of a difference... more weight :(
It surely is difficult to see out of as well. I'm thinking I'll most likely kill more cones with this one than I did with the camry before i replaced the struts. :f1:
Looking forward to seeing you guys this summer.
