As many of you know after the MOV auto-x on saturday i drove to Cumberland to Auto-x there on sunday.
The trip to Cumberland from Parkersburg was very interesting in itself once i got passed Coopers Rock on I-68 i ran into a snow storm, from about the MD/WV state line to Frostburg, MD there was about 4 inches of snow on the ground an a little strip right in the middle of the freeway to drive on. So i traveled about 40 miles at 30 mph. and i made it to my house safely a few hours late.
On to the auto-x on sunday got there and registered and teched found out i had to run in the first run group. so i set the koni's to full stiff in the front to match the full stiff in the rear pulled my car onto the grid. After that onto the course walk. It was a straight forward course, a left, right, left, right serise to start into a 4 cone slalom. Next was a turn around that opened up on exit on the back straight. The back straight was split with a right hand kink in with enough of a bump in it to upset the car. the end of the middle of 3rd gear straight was a sharp 180 (not quite pivit cone sharp) into a 6 cone slalom and a decreasing radius turn to finish the course.
On all but my last run i over cooked the turn at the end of the back straight tring to down-shift before the turn and not consintrating on braking. For my last run i waited till i started off the corner to down-shift into 2nd an knocked almost a full second off of my time and a second place finish in H/S by 0.894 to a 98 Dodge stratus on V-710s and 25th in PAX out of 99.
