Nuff said. Kudos to Brumos, and specifically to David Donahue, who won today 40 years after his dad.

What a race! I screamed at the tv every 30 seconds.

Did it end on SPEED? I saw it going off and the still seemed to be racing. I figured that they switched back to Fox for the finish, but it wasn't on there. :-( Darn it, I missed the end.

Yup, it was nice to see Brumos finally win one. Seems like they came so close so many times last year. Too bad the RX-8s broke in GT. :frown:
On a related note, JPM is a dick for whining about not being able to keep up with the Porsche boys yesterday. On the podium, no less. I guess, if nothing else, he's learned to whine like a Cup guy!

OK, he almost certainly didn't know it at the time, but it turns out he was right - the winning Brumos car was 12 pounds underweight (http://community.grand-am.com/forums/thread/ee15738d-47d1-4f01-8bba-1cea06e33a84). GrandAm has apparently adopted their NASCAR overlords' policy of not changing results after the fans go home, so Brumos gets some minor point & cash penalties, but keeps the race win.

Twelve pounds doesn't account for how fast all the porsches were in a straight line at Daytona. Weight doesn't affect top end speed as much as it affects handling, braking and acceleration. A little rule change always makes things interesting. Kudos to Porsche for pointing out their weakness for the past two years.
