That may be the end of Hollis' autocross career. Some of you are too new to not recollect the famous towing incident back in the day.
Check your cars, make sure its legal because when there's money on the line no one plays nice.

That is just plain stupid IMO...especially coming from someone with iffy history... I couldn't belive the results when I saw them yesterday...going from first to last...ouch!

That's why its imperative to make sure your car is legal when you are at the pointy end of the field. I agree with Mark Andy and Keith Casey, when you have a glittered past you make sure you have a legal car. Besides the fact there are other accusations regarding the motor legality that goes beyond the shims. Fact of the matter is, there are people who have indicated this is the last straw and won't be back to National level competition.
One bad apple can spoil the rest.

If it is just the shims them it is not a big deal IMHO.... it is entirely possible Andy was unaware of the problem.. now Ti valve spring retainers is a whole new ball game.. I find it hard to belive his motor builder just threw in some high dollar parts out of the goodness of his heart. A shame, I have met Andy a few times and always seemed like a nice guy!!

For those of us who don't remember/never learned, what was Andy's earlier sin, for which he got severely punished?

Changed final drives on his car
Forged letter from Honda indicating that it was legal/required because he used his car for towing
The punishment was the worst in Solo history, he was banned for a few years.

Is it that big a prize for winning nationals that you would risk your good name? Is it a $10 million dollar Pepsi sponsorship or something? To forge papers this guy is either desperate or obsessed with winning.

Welcome to National level autocrossing, the time, money, talent and commitment required is insane.
