Are we allowed to advertise?
Yes, there is an option on the Sanction App. to choose "Advertised Non-Spectator Event" There is a whole section on this in the Rule book and I followed it to a T....and it was approved through the SCCA.

So whats in store at the benefit event?
A 40-45 second course, I promise it will be the simplest course you'll ever see.
6 timed runs for competition purposes.
A top 8 based on PAX (or 16 depending on entrants) shootout at the end of the event. If PAX times are close enough the shootout will be done by drivers in their own cars, or if there is a large discrepancy there might be a control car that everyone has to run. The top 3 drivers at the end of the shootout will get prizes.
The seeding will be done as follows:
A) 1st vs 8th
B) 2nd vs 7th
C) 3rd vs 6th
D) 4th vs 5th
I) Winner of A) vs Winner of B)
II) Winner of C) vs Winner of D)
Winner of I) vs Winner of II) determines overall winner
Loser of I) vs Loser of II) determines third place

Looks llike RHS Project Graduation '09 Committee will have a few volunteers at the high school during our benefit event. Here is a quote from an email I received today.
"My committee will be selling sausage & bisquits in the morning; a variety of drinks throughout the day; hotdogs, baked goods, chips, etc. all afternoon.
as I mentioned in our phone conversation, I have added your group's info on our proj. grad. website; you can view it at: www.rhsprojectgraduation2009.weebly.com"
So looks like we'll be having breakfast at the school instead of Tudor's... :partay: This is yet another way we can help RHS. Thank you in advance for your support.

Anybody interested in having a codriver for this event? I'd kinda like to give the Heart of Gold a rest after 4 events in three weekends!

I'm also hoping for a co-drive if someone doesn't mind. I don't expect a response on here so that everyone else bums a drive...
I'd love to bring the Grand Am out again, but it has no insurance/inspection at the moment...If I kill the Subaru, I'm screwed. I can't afford to go without or to fix it.

Thank you Joey! Your help is appreciated! If anyone else needs any information please let me know. Anyone who is willing to help, please come as early as you can, we will start the course setup at 7:15am Sunday and will need all the help we can get. We will need extra people to help with separating different areas (concessions, grid, spectator areas) with caution tapes and banners (flags on string)... How about this....you'll receive a nice T-Shirt if you show up before 7:45am and help... :f1:
Just a quick reminder again, folks from project graduation 2009 will be serving breakfast (and lunch later) for us so come early and hungry... :partay:

Good idea Sean, we wanted to start using the boards again last time... And thanks for the radios Jon! Anything else we're forgetting? We have flour, marking chalk....CHris M. will be there helping with grid. (we'll have a standing grid btw...no more "creeping lines") We should have enough people for three run groups including time auditor (manually writing times down), two grid people, starter, announcer etc... Cathy brought bunch of post it notes so we'll have another person handing out times. (we'll eventually have a printer for this)..
Anything else? Suggestions? Concerns? Course looks excellent Sean!
Edit1: Also, we'll have plenty of pictures and video from this event, make sure to wash your car and smile heavily when you run! :f1:

Could you possibly suggest to them that there are a few vegeterians in the the club. Stuff to make Cheese sandwiches would be nice and perhaps Cream Cheese and Bagels for morning. I'm sure others would buy these things, too.
I remember when the band boosters @ P'burg had concessions, I felt bad because there was only a couple of things I could buy. I think I remember eventually just giving them some money to make up for the price of a couple of hotdogs or whatever they were having.
Anyway, no need to do anything special just for me. Just throwing it out there as some suggestions/ additions to the menu that don't cost much in materials or to make.

for some reason Nates kart gets more traction at riverside than the high grip surface at elkins... so less pushers should be needed... of course by saying this I am sure to spin and stall sometime on sunday... BTW now that I am starting to tune the carb and setup on my kart I am having even more fun!! See yall early am sunday... hoping for 3 karts!!

Wow, all the fender cars are being pushed further and further down the FTD line each event seems like... Pretty soon everyone is going to get a kart and we'll be back to normal again....:partay: lol On a more serious note, it's great to see people getting new toys, enjoying them and going faster! Keep it up SWVR! :f1:
