So, what do you Megan users think of your Coilovers?
Just found out Megan makes a BE/BH coilover for Subaru. There listed for the Baja. Same chassis as mine. They would save me about $950 over Teins, and I think I like the spring rates better. 10kg/8kg on the Megans vs. 6kg/6kg on the Teins.
Robbie, what spring rates you run with yours?

If you're concerned about spring rates, why not go the Ground Control route? They'll make 'em whatever you want and IIRC the GC + Koni/KYB/whatever route is cheaper in the long run.

But I run stock, so what do I know?

Chris, Jon is right, you can build you whatever setup you want with coilovers (ground control type) I even have some spare springs and sleeves in case you want to try some out and want to go that route. And honda people sell springs quite cheap often...bought most of my suspension on Ebay for next to nothing (besides shocks and tender springs that is)... just a thought

I like em'. Haven't had any trouble out of em'. However, Martin is faster than me. So... ????

Not sure what the rates are. They are the street version. The rates will be dependent on suspension geometry and weight distribution. I don't think knowing my rates will translate to your car.

Quite well, understood. I wouldn't dream of slapping your exact spring rates on my car. Just curious. It does help to get a base line based off of overall vehicle weight. Motion Ratio, Overall Weight, Weight Distribution, and Projected (desired) Cornering Force are the deciding factors. If one drives on the street or on bumpy courses (real world) then additional factors apply along with dampner ajustments.
The 'Wagon is kind of unique. For example, Suspension Geometry is close to the GD Impreza chassis but not exact. That being said, even though the geometry is "close", the suspension dynamics are different because of overall weight, wheelbase, and most importantly Weight Distribution. I could go on and on about my line of thinking, but not gonna. You guys know this stuff.
By the time, the coilovers go on the 'Wagon,it will go on a "ahem" diet.
The weight distribution will be a bit different and I will know the suspension motion ratio for certain. It will eliminate some of the guess work. My feeling is I will end up with 10kg/mm (558 lb/in) springs front and rear. Or if I can't stand the ride commuting maybe 8kg/mm (447 lb/in).
Looking into the Ground Control stuff. We will see how that goes. Not quite fond of the snap ring/threaded sleeve set-up.
Robbie your rates are 8kg frt and 6kg rear. Found them on the Magan Racing site. This tells me that your car is A: Lighter than a Baja B: That your Motion Ratio is higher, all else being equal (which they aren't).

Thanks for the feedback.

I'm assuming that the Dampning adj. on the Megans are Compression and Rebound together not Rebound only. Correct?

I may very well be interest in trying out what you have laying around. We'll talk.

Chris, I even have some spare 550lb/in springs for you...along with sleeves and top hats...and I might have some 450 lb springs soon for the rear of the alltrac... you're welcome to stop by and take a look at what I have. Even have some helper springs to complete the coilover setup...

I was actually pretty impressed with the ground controls on my SE-R for the year that I drove it, no rattles or nuthin'. As far as spring rates go 450 to 550 all the way around sounds perfect for autocrossing a fat subie on sticky tires.
