Roy was suggesting I go with a V-band setup for my exhaust rig, after searching, I would have to spend about 70 dollars for the flanges and clamp. I know it would be the best way to go, because I could remove my muffler in like 2 seconds. I really don't mind spending a minute or two to unbolt something to save 60 dollars. Just wondering if anybody has bought one of these band style clamps http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=WLK%2D33228&N=700+4294923429+4294919985+4294784224+115&autoview=sku
Its stainless so it should hold up better than my 4 dollar Lowes pipe clamp thing that is about done after a month of exhaust heat

a compromise could be all stainless hardware... you'd still save money but also have rust free fittings...

A v band clamp is worth the $$$, whenever you are back take a look at the one Roy got for the CRX... its one impressive piece of metal work.

Agreed, I have all V-band-connected exhaust on my celica and it is very nice...very strong! I actually have one left over in the 2 1/2 inch size...brand new.(two flanges and SS clamp) Let me know if you're interested...

...forgot I use one of those on the muffler...works good but if you take it off too many times the flange tends to stretch a bit... still great deal for $10...by the way Napa has them for $10 so you don't need to pay shipping through Summit...

Thanks for all the replies!
I might have to go over to Napa and get one of those. Sean, Roy told me he got a Burns Stainless V-band which is the most expensive one I found haha, but I am sure its great quality like everything else they make. The cheapest V-band I found was a Vibrant.
I'll let you know about that V-band Marteen, I might go back to my Thermal, which I think is 2.5 inches. I want to try to keep my stock muffler, I don't care if I am restricting flow on the street as long as I can remove it for autox.

We revved your car Johnny and really its NOT loud. You could drive around with no muffler and no one would know. Roy and I were thinking you should just ditch the muffler and run a turn down all the time.

Yeah, on the way home it wasn't loud at all at 3500 rpm on the highway, but since I will be in Fairfax County this summer, I want to have a stock muffler there.
I am thinking my resonator is extremely restrictive, so I might just get a pipe to replace that
