Lots of interesting things going on in ALMS land in the run up to Sebring:
* a full season for an Aston Martin in GT-1 to battle the 'Vettes
* a host of different cars in GT-2 (Porsche, Vettes, Ferraris, Ford GTs, another Aston)
* Gil de Ferran enters midseason as the fourth Acura team in P2
* The BK Motorsports Lola/Mazda P2 car gets some new sponsors:

Bah - magazine's are old media. The Aston announcement (http://www.speedtv.com/articles/auto/alms/42768/) was just yesterday. It's just one car, but it's better than nothing.

I dunno - the two Vettes could take each other out battling for first!

And now a three-car effort (http://www.lizardms.com/news/) (up from two, IIRC?) by Flying Lizard in GT-2. Should bolster the Porsche ranks in the face of more Ferarris coming out.

New M3 to GT-2 (http://auto-racing.speedtv.com/article/bmw-returning-to-american-lemans-series-with-two-car-effort-from-rahal-lett/) with Rahal/Letterman!

does this mean that Porsche is going to start whining and demanding a 1 inch diameter intake restrictor or whatever size it was because BMW is using a V8

Well, they shouldn't since the actual M3 has a V8, unlike that cheater thing they fabbed up a couple of years ago. Of course, if BMW can lobby the ALMS as effectivley as GM does in Grand Am (that "Pontiac" in GT is a sham), they might get turbos!

I know it actually has a V8 this time. That wasn't a cheater car, they did build some of them, even though they still didn't have a V8 and cost like 1/4 million lol.
