Since Sean is off at Summit, I threw the results up on my web space:
Class (http://home.earthlink.net/~pylondodger/RHS%20Benefit%20Class.htm)
PAX (http://home.earthlink.net/~pylondodger/RHS%20Benefit%20PAX.htm)
Raw (http://home.earthlink.net/~pylondodger/RHS%20Benefit%20Raw.htm)
Those who weren't there missed:
-A great FTD battle between CRX, Corvette, and Marcel's Mustang
-A 3-way battle for supremacy in the challenge CRX
-Tom Rice bringing the heat in the Sentra, whoopin' me like a drum for most o the day
-Bill using every cone in the trailer for a course that didn't even use the whole lot!
Thanks to those hearty souls who showed up, and thanks even more to the folks who didn't run and still made donations to RHS.

This was a great event in the sense of it being just that, an autocross event, but it's a shame that more people didn't show up. It was a rough start to the day, with the cold, the looming rain, some unexpected (or should I say expected?) obstacles, raging library attendees going off on my wife, the possibility of conflicting schedules for the use of the lot, etc etc etc... However, the course was great, especially to have been improvised. It was easy to follow, without requiring much thought as to where you were supposed to go next, it flowed well, and definitely required precision to avoid the 6,000 pylons. The people were great, everyone who showed up did awesome, which made for great competition.
Fantastic day. Thanks to those involved. Thanks to my father in law Mike for towing the trailer for a second time, even though he wasn't running. Thanks to those who made outstanding donations, like Mike Hall and Kevin Smith (I'm sure there are others). Thanks to Bill for organizing the event and designing/building the course. Thanks to April for working the whole time we were there, though she wasn't running, had 3 hours of sleep, and had a theater performance to do this evening.
...oh yeah, and 8 runs a piece!

The sentra is well balanced and its pretty easy to drive, and it sticks well on the long corners.
Thanks Rob for letting drive the WRX i really do miss mine.
and marteen for letting me drive the CRX that was the first time i drove on stickes.
Great event and lots of runs to learn on.

I think it was a great day and I really appreciate the few who showed up.
Everyone more than got their money's worth and I think it was one of the better courses of the year.
I only congratulate myself because when I arrived there was yet another vehicle parked on the lot. My idea went out the window and I just came up with something very simple.
It was only a 9 gate course, but I did somehow use every pylon available. You would have to see it to understand.
The best thing about the course was that instead of rewarding horsepower or rewarding small nimble cars, it totally rewarded driving skill.
Half the field was capable of FTD and with the constantly changing conditions, it was exciting throughout the day.
I was really impressed by the driving and I enjoyed the day.
Here's to hoping our tiny showing can still raise some respectable funds for Riverside.

Somewhat OT, but since some of us were wondering about all the bikers on Rt. 60 yesterday afternoon, here's the answer (http://www.sundaygazettemail.com/section/News/2006093053).

Yes Bill somehow you did use all the pylons but I believe there was only a few off courses. Great course, it really allowed those of us who havent ran much lately to really work on things. Especially myself since I havent ran any this year and basically starting over with a somewhat new car.
The brief moment I held FTD was great and really made my day. All the hard work paid off and driving was really coming around. Until that Z06 busted my bubble. Thats ok though because he was definately fast. And who would of thought a $2006 CRX, z06 and a mustang would have been battling for FTD. No one had any advantage over the other thats what made it great.
Thanks for Dan showing me what the car is really capable of. We know there is more in it just need to figure it out. So far rolling the front fenders and putting bigger tires on it would definately help. But it is stil for sale and would make a great car for someone to get. All the hard work is done except for some minor tinkering. It may be out in Parkersburg pending sale by that time.

just wondering..
how much $$ did we raise..
can we use a paypal account.. i have one.. to let others donate that didn't attend..
or the swvrscca could open an account..
i think if all our members would donated five or ten or ....more..
that would add up..
folks we only had 18 cars run on saturday.. so..
if everyone had a way to step up.. i think they would..
right ???

It may be a bit late but I was thinking of this yesterday. Whom do I talk to about donating my entry fee even though I couldn't make it to the event?

hey, I just wanted to say I had a good time driving this event. It was kind of hectic having to run back and forth from driving to working so fast because there weren't many people there! I just wanted to thank mike with the corvette for letting me do a fun run in it, and taking me for one of his runs in it. I must admit, being behind the wheel of something so powerful was a bit intimidating! Didn't want to push the car all that hard like I do my camry :D anyways, it took me all day to finally put a run together that I didn't knock over tons of pylons! Too bad these runs were my fun runs :( . I had fun on the wet track anyways, just magnified the amount of not getting any traction even more!
time to rotate my tires as well after this one... my rear tires look rather good, while my fronts are showing some insane wear from the autox!
Anyhow, I hope we raised a good amount of money for the school!

Does anyone have any footage of the mustang from Sunday? I would be willing to pay for it if possible. Email or dvd would be great if possible.

I've got some, but probably not a full run. If you can wait for it to be posted on the web, it's totally free. Might be a while, though.

I gotta say, speaking for myself and Pat, this event was a blast. I think our favorite since we started this year. Id personally like to thank everyone who made it happen, and really we all should be thanking everyone there because it required everyone to work and make it happen. A total group effort. I think thats what made it special. As mentioned before the course didnt favor any vechicle, just the driver, therefore to be faster one had to be learning. A perfect autocross school day.
Rant: Blippin tire wear, the course also knew how to wear it out
